Acadiane Journeys
We have made several films in this series, which feature original music, poetry and special journeys in a Citroen van, some in France and some in the UK. Having let go one Acadiane van in France, when we returned to live in the UK, we have now acquired another one, from the same region of France as the first. So, our back projection screen fits our latest little Citroen van (roll on the exhibitions and festivals) and we have started with two new short films, to add to the others, here’s the series so far, with our most recent film first:

It seems a particularly poignant time to upload this latest video film-poem, in curved perspective. Filmed in Dover in 2014, with a magical reading by Mathilde Azen in France, this collaborative project (2014 – 2018) traces the steps of an unseen woman on her journey from home to graveyard, to shore. Intermittent ambient sound combined with short periods of silence and lines of a poem, which appear as text in English and as a reading in French, add other layers. The recording of the poem in translation was made in France and the music recorded in Cornwall, in keeping with the spirit of the work. (See ARTISTSPRESS for details of publications)
